Interesting Facts of October 11th
- In 1890, the Daughters of the American Revolution was founded on October 11th. It's a nonprofit organization aimed at promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
- Apollo 7, the first manned Apollo mission, was launched with astronauts Wally Schirra, Donn Eisele, and Walter Cunningham aboard on October 11th, 1968. This was an important step towards the eventual moon landing in July 1969.
- The Outer Space Treaty, which forms the basis of international space law, came into force on October 11th, 1967.
