  2. 2. The custom of April Fool’s Day jokes and pranks is believed to have originated in France when the New Year was moved from April 1st to January 1st.
  3. 3. April 1st is also the day on which the BBC broadcast a famous hoax Panorama documentary in 1957, showing Swiss farmers picking freshly-grown spaghetti, which led many viewers to believe spaghetti grew on trees.
